This is the new spot we found to chill… down by the river in the mountains. It was so fun to wade in the water and picnis. We are already planning to go back!

A week ago we went to Cancun, Mexico. David had a business trip for the first half and I tagged along. We had a lot of fun but it was way too short. We went to the club “Coco Bongo” which was AWESOME! People flew through the air and everything was a performance, including Elvis, Moulon Rouge, Mambo Number 5, Beetlejuice, Spiderman (who got hurt and fell off his bungee), and amazing acrobatics that reminded me of Cirque de Soleil. We also took an AllTourNative adventure which included visiting the Mayan Ruins of Tullum, biking, zip-lining in the jungle, swimming/snorkeling in cenotes, and witnessing a Mayan Purification Ceremony. Our last full day we took a day trip to see the amazing ruins at Chichen Itza… now these ruins were unbelieveable (once we got there… that’sa whole ‘nother story)! You can see in the pictures how the weather starts to change and we got stuck in a horrible storm and we got soaked. All in all, it was a great trip and we wished we had stayed longer. I only wish I had found a day to make it to the beach! How do you go to Cancun and not hit the beach? That again, is a whole ‘nother story (Coco Bongo sorta ruined that for me… too much tequila).

Such an awesome store… And with 2 locations!

This camel is right down the street from where my aunt lives in Kansas City… too funny! He was a dirty little fella. He likes to roll in the mud to keep the flies off of him. There are a few more pics in my flickr (sidebar to the right).

And guess what i’m having?

AAA saved us again, along with my new boyfriend, Garmin Nuvi (love that thing), and the current fiance. So we are in the middle of nowhere, about 10 miles from where my car is, not even sure how to get back there because there’s no transportation service in Pottsville, and I’m not even sure if they can fix my car anyway. We’ll find out tomorrow. So we are getting ready to gorge on local pizza and the 6-pack of beer we bought from them.

A trip wouldn’t be a trip without wishing we hadn’t left the house… again, we make the world’s worst travelers list. Everything we have tried to do today didn’t work out. Even trying to use the restroom at Starbucks was a chore… I had to do the pee-pee dance for 15 minutes while one of the employees cleaned it up. Oh, and then when we tried to go to the nearest hotel (with internet connection), we couldn’t take our route because a tree had fallen in our path. Huh? “Recalculating,” as the Garmin would say. What’s next in our grand adventure?

“We’re in the lobby restaurant and there’s a live group singing English songs with a thick Spanish accent. Dancing Queen… Jew can dance, Jew can dance. Wish you were here.”

So far everything is going great for him, but he is already worn out. They go all day long and he didn’t get back in until late. I hope it’s not always like this. He also said that both spot he has visited in Mexico are up in the mountains and have not been as hot as we thought it would be. He brought his camera, but I don’t know if he was going to have time to take pictures this trip. Anyway, I am looking forward to his return tomorrow.

We are both excited and nervous about the trip. He will not be doing any sight seeing, but it will be a busy trip because he’s visiting many stores, one in Monta Rey and three in Mexico City, and all in the course of three-four days. I’m already anxious for him to return on Friday. I hope that we made the right decision with this promotion. I am worried that he will never be home… some alone time is always good for you (I am already thinking about the scrapbooking projects I can work on), but we lived apart for five years and I love finally being with him. I’m sure everything will be fine, but I know how old the phone relationship can get… and I bet for him the traveling and eating out all the time will get old after a while.

I love you baby, and I hope your first day on the job and your travels go smoothly. I’ll be waiting for your first phone call to hear all about it. And you better post about your travels from the road! God speed.

P.S. I am actually posting from his new laptop! And he’s all ready with movies to play on it for the plane ride.
