Reading Updates

June 17th, 2009 Posted in Reading Room

Well, it took me a while but I finished “Three Cups of Tea.” It was a good story, but it didn’t hold my interest… maybe it’s because I didn’t like it told in the third-person point of view, which makes it difficult to follow at times… I don’t know. Anyway, I like what the book stands for and it is a touching story. After I finished it a week ago, I picked up “Angels & Demons” so I can go see the movie after I finish. All I can say is, “WOW!” I started reading it last Thursday and I finished it by Sunday. Hopefully David and I will go see the matinee this weekend and I can’t wait, although I have a feeling that it won’t live up to the book (the movies never do). And I am so excited for his next book coming out September 15, “The Lost Symbol.”

So now I am back on my “Twilight” series with the second book “New Moon.” I’m already 200 pages into the 550+ pg. book and I can’t wait to go home each night and read more. Even David loves it… I have to read it to him every night out loud or catch him up if I do any reading on my own. This is sort of a pain in the butt, but I’m hoping that at some point he’ll realize he can read it too.

And I am happy to report that I am kicking some major butt on the reading front! My goal was 12 books this year (basically 1 per month). Well, it’s June and if I finish New Moon (which I’m pretty sure I will by the end of the weekend) then I’ll have read 10 books and I’m only half way through the year. I wish I could do this every year and then I’ll have read all of the 200+ book I want to read. To be honest, I’m surprised I have found the time… but even if it’s just one chapter a night then I get somewhere. Pretty soon I’m going to have to add even more books to my list in the sidebar (which I have done here and there).

Anybody else reading anything interesting? Nobody has commented in a while… leave your thoughts.
