Saving the World… 1 Bag At a Time
April 27th, 2009 Posted in Cool StuffSince Earth Day just happened, many places are advertising Earth-Friendly products and places. I’m an avid watcher of Martha Stewart and she posted these re-usable grocery bags called Flip & Tumble. I thought they were cool because they roll up like a pair of socks and you can put the bags in your purse. I try my best to bring bags to the store when I go to cut down on the plastic (especially since the people bagging tend to put one item per bag which is SO WASTEFUL), but I hardly ever remember until I’m at the store. I thought this would help… I did a little research and came to a blog that talked about a few different ones, including RuMe Bags and Envirosax. The blogger liked the Flip & Tumble but said weight distribution was a little tough with only one handle (it’s like a sling)… she preferred the RuMe or Envirosax. She also said that many people like Baggu Bags, and that’s what I settled on because they are made of Ripstop Nylon and the price was better than the others, and it folds up into a nice little pouch. If you order one they $8, but if you order three or six you save more. I went for three to start out and it was $22.50. I didn’t think it was too bad. Well, this has been on my mind a lot lately and I came across another site that I really like (not just because it’s nicely designed, but also the message): www.onebagatatime.com.
I was so moved by their flash video that I thought I would share it with people… maybe it will help spread the idea. AND, they offer bags on there for super cheap: 10 bags for $9.90. EXCELLENT! I don’t have details of what they are made of or anything, but I still like what they offer. Anyway, please go to:Â www.onebagatatime.com.
