Projects to Complete
August 6th, 2008 Posted in Creative
A few years ago at Christmas,  my mom gave some leaf castings that her and my dad made. I decided that I want to make some myself and came across a site that shows how many uses they have: go here. I don’t know where I will find the time (probably in the Fall after some of the house stuff settles), but this is one of my projects on THE LIST. My favorites are the gutter downspash catchers (I need a few of these) and the birdbath. They just have so many cool applications. Thanks for such a cool gift and idea mom!
Also on THE LIST (besides fix up the house):
- Finish DVDs – we’re converting to slim cases
- Refinish lots of furniture
- Add bronze patina to gold curtain rods I got so they look more like Pottery Barn’s - I found some similar to the three leaf version for $12.99 a piece… better than $35 a piece!
- Add bronze and green patina to galvanized bucket for wood next to fireplace like Pottery Barn’s - my bucket is more oblong and not so big, but I got a silver galvanized bucket for $14.99 vs. $129 on sale!
- Paint David’s fridge white and add his Yankees magnet (right now it is brown & woody) for his game room
- Make map balls using styrofoam, scrapbook paper and decopage (saw some on world market that looked like little globes, but did not want to spend the money)
So much to do… I’ll be busy for a while.
