We Put a Bid on a House!!!
May 28th, 2008 Posted in AnnouncementsMy aunt found us a cute little house in her neighborhood that we are hoping to buy. The lady originally wanted to do rent-to-own, but her terms were too risky. We went and saw it and talked to her about purchasing and she has decided to sell. She called us Monday and we put a bid on the house for the amount we were pre-approved through the bank (there are several people interested, or so she says). We hope we’ll have good news soon. We’re just not sure what steps to take because we aren’t using a realtor and we are new to this. I think we need a purchasing attorney or something, but this has been an exciting step for us. We love the neighborhood and houses there don’t stay available for long. Here are some pics of the house. It’s a ranch with a small fenced-in backyard, 2-car garage, 3 bedrooms, 2 full baths, open floor plan, dining room, large laundry room, walk-in closet in main BDRM, 10-ft. ceilings, hardwood floors, gas fireplace, and a deck out back with a built-in gas hard-lined, stainless steel grill. It’s perfect for a starter home for us… it’s more than we planned on paying for a first home, but so little needs to be done to it for it to meet our needs and wants. We’ll keep you posted.

In other news, I finally finished my Hitchhiker’s guide to the Galaxy series and have started on “P.S. I Love You.” I bought the movie when it came out but I refuse to watch it until after I finish the book. The books are always so much better and I enjoy them more if I read them before I see the movies. I just wish I had more time to read.
Brenner is doing well with the potty training and religiously goes to the door to be let out now. He is growing so fast and is just the love of our lives. He’s so cute, even when he’s naughty. We took him to a lake this past weekend and he took his first swim. I’m not sure if he liked it though because he only went out once and didn’t want to again. We hope to keep taking him to the lake and trying though. And kitty has taken to beating the crap out of him everytime he bugs her. She’s not even afraid of him… it’s actually the opposite. She doesn’t mind him generally, but how would you feel if some animal kept sniffing your butt and barking at you? We figure they’ll adjust and it will probably get better as he gets older and calms down a bit.
I have also been swamped at work, so I haven’t posted much lately. Hopefully I can keep everyone abreast of the house updates though.

I love it! The lot looks great and has lots of trees, too … weird, the kitchen in this house looks like the same layout as your apartment? Love the windows in the living room, reminds me of ours with the windows on either side of the fireplace … the grill deal is an extra bonus, too! Good luck, I’ll keep my fingers crossed for you!
