The Monster Mutt Strikes Again

Yes, he may look cute and innocent… but he’s not. Everyone says he is the sweetest puppy and so calm… but he’s not. And for some reason, I am the only one that ever sees his Monster Mutt moments. Me and Mr. Muttenchops are going to go head to head. This is what happened last night:

That would be the cord to my laptop, which was plugged in so I don’t know how he didn’t get electrocuted. He did this little number in less than 2 minutes. I was watching him, sitting right next to him in fact… when I looked down I saw it in his mouth and took it away immediately, but it was too late. I don’t know how I am going to replace this OR how much it will cost.

I also installed a brand new baby gate yesterday, which was a whole other hassle. The first one was busted when I got it home so I returned it and got another, and then putting this one up with the dog trying to steal every piece and part was impossible. I almost had to put up the old baby gate to block, just so I could get the new one up. This one is made of metal and is taller so he cannot jump over it. Plus, Kitty can get through the spaces so we don’t have to lift it off the floor a little, which Brenner used to force his way under. And this one has a convenient gate that opens so that we don’t have to step over… so much for my buns of steel. This is just easier.

Here’s what the old one looked like. I only paid $10 for it onsale and I was very happy with it at the time. It is made of wood and metal, but just didn’t do the trick in the hallway. It works fine to block the pantry and kitty’s stuff. If you decide to get a dog, pay the $35 and get one that’s a little better.

My sister just got a new puppy too. He is doing the same things. She had to get pvc piping to put around her telephone and lamp cords. He chewed through them twice. He also chewed through my nephews xbox controler cord. It will all pass in time. He is just teething and wants to chew everything. Things will get much better in a few months. Puppies are like taking care of babies. CALL ME!!!!!(on my house phone)

You need more chew toys for him. A ridiculous amount in fact. Our puppies LOVED their kongs and we always had toys and bones everywhere. They didn’t ever chew a cord, but our place always had doggie things spread all over!

Ouch! Thats not fun to lose power cords!! Well try the pvc pipe that sounds like a good way to protect them. Brenner is a puppy and i guess prone to being a naughty guy from time to time. He is cute however!
