Cool Stuff

Over the weekend I got some cool stuff and thought I would share…

When I went to help my sis find an apartment, I found out that she is near a Container Store, which specializes in organizational stuff and containers (what else, right?). Well I had heard that they had these erasible labels and I knew that I had to have them to organize my file folders and my scrapbooking stuff. So I got some and love them. The best part is that you write on them with a sharpie, and they still erase using the eraser that comes in the kit. I love them!

The second cool thing that I got is this amazing coffee that I tried at my sister’s friend’s parent’s house. It’s called Jamaican Me Crazy and can be found at the Daily Grind. It is flavored with Vanilla, Caramel and Jamaican Rum (or maybe Kalua – which it says in the package). I may need to start buying it at beancentral.com because you can get a 5 lb. quantity for much cheaper ($31.95 for 5 lbs. vs. $9.99 for 1/2 pound). It is just so delicious!

And then we are also looking at a GPS unit for me. It is not an expense we should take right now, but with my sister coming to DC and with me having no sense of direction and getting lost everywhere I go (like the three times I got lost in DC this weekend alone), we think it is a cost worthy of taking out of the savings for. This was actually partly to blame for my accident in November too, because I was in an area where I had gotten lost and I was looking for signs and was a nervous wreck. We are thinking about the Garmin nuvi 200 or the nuvi 350, but we are not sure which yet. They are both more expensive than we originally planned on getting, but they are portable so that you can put it in your pocket and navigate on foot (like say in DC or NYC). They are also extremely easy to use and have the maps that you can add to them, although they are very expensive. The perk of the 350 is that it also comes with maps of Canada for only an extra $100, which we may need if he gets this new trainer job he applied for. It also has the text to speech feature, which means th evoice prompts actually speak the street names and not just “turn in .2 miles.” And there is even a travel guide that you can get to add to either, like frommer’s for when you are traveling and it covers the whole nation. It’s pretty neat, but now we need to make a decision. We don’t know when we will buy one, but it will be very soon.

So these are all the cool things I have found lately and I thought I would share.
