Because I am so excited from my friend’s first baby, and because I am getting better at knitting and love to try new projects, I have made her a little baby hat for her new baby boy. It came out just SO CUTE! Fittingly it is called an umbilical cord hat and I used Bernat’s Cotton Tot yarn (made of mostly cotton), size 7 16″ needles and size 7 DPNs.

It’s a design that is in two of my books, Knitting for Peace and Stitch ‘N Bitch, which are both great books. The one from the Stitch ‘N Bitch book is actually sized for little babes though… I tried one before the one pictured from the Knitting for Peace book, and even though is said child size, it fits me.

knit-ho-ho-purse.gifI also made this little number last week. I call it the Ho Ho Purse because it shrunk down further than anticipated and looks like a little ho ho (without the flowers). It is made from Patons Wool and is felted so that the stitches are not distinguishable. I made the little flowers separately and sewed them to pin backinging so that they can be removed. Too cute! Who would have thought that this hobby could be so FUN!

This is soooo cute. You should sell those on Etsy. I love it!
